Two views of Rio. One guide.

Simon came to Rio from Switzerland and found it hard to find his way at first. Where is a special bar? Which hike to take today? He spent a lot of time researching on the internet. One day Simon connected the dots, and out of this “Tuca” was born.

From day one Fernanda was on board, who is his wife and a true Carioca. She knows Rio the way you only do when you are at home here: the good corners, the quiet spots and the hidden gems that no guidebook mentions.

Together we built the guide we wished we had: honest, useful and checked by people who live here. Our top lists are editorial, never paid for. Where we recommend a partner, we say so.
